To celebrate reaching 200 songs tonight, I'm giving this little beauty away as a free download for y'all!
This song also represents the beginning of a slightly different creative approach: I spent a bit of time preparing samples and made several sample banks and applied different synthesis techniques and effects to each individual hit. I was reminded of a song I made many years ago, when I had just got my Yamaha A3000 sampler: Back then I had to load samples in with floppy disks, so it was always good if I could fit 5 or 6 short samples on a floppy and within the sampler, duplicate these and try doing different things to them, to save having to keep swapping files back and forth from my very slow Pentium 486. Tonight I took a similar approach: Start out with a few samples (in this case a kit from reason) and see how much I could explore those sounds before adding other elements in.
Eventually I decided a tasty little hook over the top of the fairly 'whacky' drum stuff, would be the icing on the cake and I think I found just that! I was getting pushed for time, but got a fairly tasty wee bass synth and pad to throw on top, just in the last few bars.
